“Our company has used VFE since early
1998. We have deployed several successful projects with both, some that
have even been considered "Mission Impossible" from the outset. VFE
6 has proven to go above and beyond a simple application framework. We
have been able to leverage the robust object model for integration with
different back-end databases. This includes wrapping a proprietary socket
DLL for accessing data on the HPe3000 with the VFE cursor class as well as
accessing traditional client/server databases. The loosely coupled classes
fit together so well that I would even risk saying that VFE actually makes
development 'fun' again.
In addition to VFE being an outstanding

When I first began to use FoxExpress, I was able to rewrite several year's worth
of code (and then some) in less than a year. The new application had
even more screens and reports than before and looked far more professional.
Visual FoxExpress allows me

researching and evaluating all of the Visual FoxPro frameworks and finally
decided on F1 Technologies Visual FoxExpress. Visual FoxExpress is my preferred
framework for Visual FoxPro because of its solid OO foundation. F1's
understanding of patterns satisfies a couple of key requirements: For one, I
want my OO framework writers to have more of an understanding of OO than just
properties, events and methods. Secondly, having access to solid OO code
provides me with examples that I can use to learn and to better my understanding
of OO. VFE also strongly encourages

me learn more about developing n-tier object-oriented applications than the
other frameworks that I’ve tried. Their support forum is one of the best
around and I don’t have to pay extra for a forum monitored by the developers
of the product. I also don’t have to pay extra for tools that should be easily
used with VFP like Xcase. One of the reasons I chose VFE was because I can
easily use other 3rd party VFP tools with it (SDT, FoxFire, Xcase,
WWC).
VFE also offers some
of the best training around. Charles
Hankey is an excellent instructor. The courses are designed to get you up and
running with the product. The
training CDs are a terrific alternative to attending the classes as well as
great review for those who have attended. They
even have their own DevCon.
VFE
is also the only framework that has had a book published. This book is an
excellent resource for VFE developers.
