This course focuses on getting a developer who is new to Visual FoxExpress up and running quickly. As part of this course students are guided through building an actual order-entry system using Visual FoxExpress. Among the concepts covered in this course are:

  • Setting up Visual FoxExpress and Visual FoxPro for optimal use.

  • The Visual FoxExpress framework and its architecture

  • The Visual FoxExpress Data Dictionary

  • Object-oriented design

  • Working with objectified data

  • Using parent-child presentation objects and forms to create parent-child-grandchild relationships

  • Introducing views

  • Creating new methods and properties

  • The power of Access methods

  • Using field behavior classes

  • Taking advantage of the framework for user-friendly interface design

This course is taught by Charles Hankey, a Cleveland, Ohio based consultant and a long time aficionado of the FoxExpress product line. Developers from F1 Technologies will also be available to answer questions during the course.
