Charles has been a business consultant,
application developer and corporate trainer for twenty years. He began
developing database applications using dBase II but quickly switched to
FoxBase when it became available.
Since 1994 he has been using FoxExpress
exclusively as his development framework and has successfully designed,
developed and deployed many business solutions with FoxExpress and
Visual FoxExpress for a wide variety of clients.
Located in Cleveland, Ohio, he has
clients in a number of other parts of the country and has maintained an
on-going interest in mentoring, custom development and project rescue
for many fellow VFE developers.
Charles works closely with F1
Technologies on various consulting projects and Visual FoxExpress
training, working with Mike Feltman to develop the training materials
for Visual FoxExpress. Since 1999 he has been the primary instructor for
F1 Technologies' Visual FoxExpress courses. Charles is available for
telephone consultation and support on Visual FoxExpress projects and
also offers remote desktop assistance for times when email and the
telephone won’t suffice.
Twice recognized by Microsoft with the
Most Valuable Professional Award, Charles has been a popular and
featured speaker at all of F1 Technologies Developers Conferences.
Prior to his career with computers, he
worked for various government agencies from 1968 to 1980, including work
in the Middle East and Southeast Asia and as a consultant for the
Cabinet Committee on International Narcotics Control. He has taught
English as a foreign language, intelligence techniques, and
hang-gliding.
He has a degree in history from Denison
University, which has never made him a dime except as a two-time
Jeopardy! champion in 1990.
