AFP Express available!

Seebruck, March 21, 2005 – ProLib Software GmbH announces a new member of the Active FoxPro Pages 3.0 family of products. AFP Express is targeted at the FoxPro developer, who needs an inexpensive development environment for intranet applications and for extending existing Visual FoxPro applications with web features. The feature set of AFP Express is basi-cally the same as of the well-known product Active FoxPro Pages 3.0. AFP Express mainly differs in terms of scalability and flexibility. The list price of AFP Express is $99 US.

"AFP Express is the ideal platform if high availability and scalability provided by our flagship Active FoxPro Pages 3.0 are not your concerns", says Jürgen Wondzinski, CEO of ProLib Software GmbH. "Praxis has shown that most AFP applications are intranet applications. Creating a load balancing cluster, execution as a Windows service, the flexibility of plugins and extended debug features aren't needed for these applications. By omitting these features, we can offer AFP Express as an inexpensive alternative, continues Jürgen Wondzinski.

A free, non-expiring evaluation edition is available from our downloads page.

F1 Technologies to Distribute and Support Active FoxPro Pages

New tool complements other products.

Toledo, Sept 27, 2004: F1 Technologies announced today that they would begin distributing and supporting Active FoxPro Pages. Active FoxPro Pages (AFP) is a system that allows software developers to build dynamic web pages with Microsoft Visual FoxPro (VFP), XML and HTML.  AFP is produced by ProLib Software GmbH in Seebruck, Germany.

F1 Technologies is a leading provider of software development technology for Microsoft Visual FoxPro and Microsoft Visual Studio. Since 1990, F1 Technologies has built a solid reputation as an innovative provider of top-quality products and services to the FoxPro community. F1 Technologies is best known as the developers of Visual FoxExpress, an award winning application framework and Rapid Application Development environment for Microsoft Visual FoxPro. F1 Technologies is also the North American distributor of Xcase, a popular database design tool.

ProLib is one of the leading FoxPro-oriented software companies in Europe. Established in 1992, ProLib provides a wide range of services around and about the FoxPro programming language: Training, Coaching, Programming, Tools development and Distribution. ProLib is also the home of several MVPs (Microsoft Most Valuable Professionals)

According to Mike Feltman, president of F1 Technologies, “AFP allows Visual FoxPro developers to immediately leverage their Visual FoxPro skills on the Internet. The recently released AFP 3.0 offers high performance and stability and allows developers to design, develop and debug web pages all from within VFP without starting and stopping the web server. We’re excited about adding AFP to our product mix because it gives F1 Technologies a full range of solutions for application developers:

  • Xcase for Database Design and Maintenance,

  • Visual FoxExpress for developing desktop applications, middle tier components and web services and

  • Active FoxPro Pages for developing web applications.”

“We are very exited about the new possibilities in collaborating with F1, and their great expertise” said Jürgen “wOOdy” Wondzinski of ProLib.

F1 Technologies also announced today that it is creating a new AFP based web site showcasing AFP and its interoperability with Visual FoxExpress. The new web site is expected to be deployed by the end of the calendar year.

F1 Technologies will be touring the Southwest United States in April of 2005 to demonstrate AFP and its interoperability with Visual FoxExpress. For additional information or to arrange a presentation for your user group visit F1 Technologies on the web at www.f1tech.com.
